FOOD PROGRAMS

San Francisco Marin Food Bank for a list of pantries and other food resources.

CalFresh offers Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) cards to low-income individuals and families to purchase food at many grocery stores.

Project Open Hand serves nutritious meals at locations across San Francisco to seniors and those with disabilities.

Community Dining Program: San Francisco Human Services Agency offers nutritious, low-cost meals to seniors aged 60 and older at numerous sites throughout the city.

CHAMPSS offers dietician-approved meals at low cost to adults 60 or older and their spouses at several restaurants in San Francisco. Sponsored by Self-Help for the Elderly and the San Francisco Department of Aging and Adult Services (DAAS).

Kimochi serves Japanese style hot lunches for adults 60 and over and their spouses or disabled non-elderly person who is a member of a household with an elderly person. It also offers a nutrition assessment and a home delivery service.

Senior Clipper Card can be used for local transit options, including Caltrain, BART, Muni, SamTrans, VTA, AC Transit, Golden Gate Transit, Golden Gate Ferry, and ferry services in the San Francisco Bay and in Oakland and Alameda.

Shop Around Shuttle – low-cost shuttle for grocery shopping. Registered seniors and people with disabilties get personalized assistance not available on Muni bus and rail lines.
